I would like to reach out and let you know that I’m fundraising for 22 Students’ School Fees for 1st Three Months, whose family members are not able to pay for their new academic year. There is a very high risk of dropouts from SCHOOL because of these reasons: The present scenarios indicate that students in Nepal are affected differently by the pandemic. For instance, a few schools and colleges in urban areas have started to run online classes to mitigate the impact on learning. However, running online classes does not seem to be feasible for most rural schools and families who don’t have any sources of income even in cities in Nepal. Many parents have lost their jobs due to the pandemic, lockdown in the country and their economic crisis has worsened more than ever before. Therefore, it is likely that some parents may not be able to afford their children to attend school (or university). Rightly points out, Parents from especially, rural localities may be reluctant to send their children back to school because they may prefer their children to continue to support them in farming and livestock herding. Nepal’s economy is largely dependent on foreign employment. Indeed, a large number of families in Nepal depend on remittances but this pandemic has badly affected jobs abroad forcing people to lose their jobs and return to Nepal. This situation might also lead to a higher drop-out rate in Nepal. So, as you probably already know, this cause is very important to me. In order to meet our fundraising goal, are you able to support this incredible cause? I (Tashi Phuntsok ) on behalf of the Himalayan Guge Organization HGO would like to THANK YOU so much for your continued support to us and the people of Nepal who are in real need of our contribution. It is making a huge difference in their daily difficult life.
Especially, at such moments as the Pandemic and the lockdown in the country for so long, most economically poor families, who are fully dependent on daily work/job, are in unimaginable trouble. They came to Kathmandu and the city for their children to give better education and make their future brighter by sending them to proper school; in the city, schools provide a better quality of education.
But, they are in big trouble, could not pay their school fee, online classes are going on in the city, and need technical equipment, like laptops, better cell phones, internet, etc., to have online classes and examinations. It’s very hard for parents to manage and can't make an effort for them. So, lots of kids couldn’t attend their online classes and just wasted their quality of time without doing anything and just wasting. Without paying tuition fees to the school, the school is not providing online classes’ accesses.
Therefore, I and HGO are trying to make a small contribution to only some of them and which will be very big support for them and especially for the parents. For that – without your support, it is more than 100% not possible for me, I am just a medium or bridge in between.
